Your drafts are yours. Here's exactly what we collect, why, and how long we keep it.
What We Collect
When you use DraftMerge, we collect:
- Account info: Email, name, profile picture (from Google sign-in)
- Usage data: Number of merges, credits used, timestamps
- Content: Text you submit for merging (temporarily — see below)
How We Use It
- To provide the Service and process your requests
- To track credit balance and usage history
- To improve the Service through anonymized analytics
- To send important account notifications (no marketing without consent)
Third-Party Services
We share data with these providers solely to operate the Service:
- Google OAuth: For authentication
- Anthropic Claude API: For text merging — your content is sent to Anthropic for processing
- Firebase: For storing your account and credit balance
- LemonSqueezy: For payment processing
- Vercel & Railway: For hosting the frontend and backend
We do not sell your data to third parties.
Your Content
When you submit text for merging, it is sent to Anthropic's API to generate the merged version.
It is NOT stored on our servers after processing.
It is NOT used to train any AI models.
It is NOT shared with anyone outside of the processing pipeline.
Cookies
We use session cookies for authentication only. No tracking cookies, no advertising cookies, no third-party analytics cookies.
Your Rights
You can:
- Access your account data from the Profile page
- Delete your account from the Settings page
- Export your usage history (email us and we'll send it)
- Request complete data deletion via email
Data Retention
- Account data: Kept while your account is active
- Usage logs: Kept for 90 days
- Submitted text: Not retained — discarded after processing
- Payment records: Kept for 7 years (tax compliance)
Security
We use industry-standard security practices: HTTPS everywhere, encrypted storage, secure OAuth authentication. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children's Privacy
DraftMerge is not intended for users under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If we become aware of such data, we will delete it promptly.
International Users
Your data may be processed in the United States, where our servers are located. By using DraftMerge, you consent to this transfer. We comply with applicable data protection laws.
Changes
We'll notify you of significant privacy policy changes via email and in-app notice before they take effect.
